Please be aware that this is an active construction and not appropriate for children under 16 without strict supervision from parents.  It is also very muddy and so we ask you to wear shoes or boots appropriate for a construction site.  Parking is limited.  There are about a dozen spaces FACING our project site at the Makaha restaurant next door.  There is also parking across the street but we ask that you use extreme caution in crossing Great Rd.

Habitat for Humanity Returns to Acton!

Acton House
The 80 year old house we will be rehabbing.

Habitat for Humanity North Central Massachusetts is pleased to announce the start of a project in the Town of Acton. We have negotiated a very good price for an existing home in the Acton Meadows development at 263 Great Road (the current address of the house is 265 but when the development is finished it will be 263A) with Steve Steinberg of Acton Properties.  The plan is to transform a two bedroom house into an updated three bedroom, Energy Star-rated home as part of the larger development at Acton Meadows.

Habitat for Humanity North Central Massachusetts is also pleased to announce that the Board of Selectman for Acton approved a $60,000 grant proposed by the Acton Community Housing Corporation to help with the project at Acton Meadows. We have also received a Federal Home Loan Bank grant of $30,000.  The balance of funds (approximately $70,000) needed for the project will be raised from individuals, corporations, faith communities and through other grants.

We are seeking volunteers interested in helping Habitat with fund raising, public relations to promote the project and grant writing.  If you are interested in assisting in these areas, please contact Maggie Monroe-Cassel, Executive Director, at 978-348-2749, ext. 206 or maggie@ncmhabitat.org.

We are still accepting applications for this home.  Please email apply@ncmhabitat.org for more information.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help build a Habitat for Humanity home, register and sign up hereThe calendar will be posted for volunteering in Acton as soon as we have the building permit.

Habitat is thrilled to be working in Acton again and is grateful for the community support.  Acton is a community that wants to be inclusive of all people and show that by their support of Habitat for Humanity.
